Dots 'n Lines is an implementation of the classic game of Dots and Lines. The game starts with a grid of dots. Both opponents take turns drawing horizontal and vertical lines on the grid. The object of the game is to give your opponent as few squares as possible and to complete as many of your opponent's squares as possible. Though gameplay can be simple at first, it is quite engrossing (read: addictive) and involves some strategy.

Dots 'n Lines was programmed on a Macintosh using REALbasic 3.0, a visual basic development environment. Versions are available for all modern flavors of the Mac OS (8, 9, and X) and Windows (95, 98, NT 4, 2000, and ME). All versions include the following flagship features:

Please follow the links above/below to download the program or for more information. We'd also love to hear what you think about our game!

We are presenting Dots 'n Lines as a final project for our Computer Science 156H class at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; however, we feel the game is simply too good to just leave at this point. We intend to update it - though perhaps not on a regular basis - thus allowing it to live on past this point for the forseeable future.

Happy playing!

- Andy and Daniel
